LEGO has been around for decades, and as the world has embraced superheroes, spaceships and just about anything else, the company has evolved with it .
Its sets are truly legendary, growing in ambition and complexity with every passing year, and the company has its sights set on bringing gamers to the bricks.
Fresh off the announcement of an upcoming Pokemon LEGO collaboration , more Fortnite options , and much more, we’ve gone back through the company’s existing options to find the best gaming LEGO sets for your kids, or for Dad on Father’s Day (I hope my family is reading this, hint, hint).
Here are our picks.
The Legend of Zelda’s Great Deku Tree

The challenge of debuting a Legend of Zelda LEGO set is which one do you choose? Link’s adventures span multiple spots on an increasingly complex timeline.
The answer? Make one of the most ambitious LEGO sets on this list, a 2-in-1 that can be the Deku Tree from Breath of the Wild or the classic one from Ocarina of Time.
With four minifigs and a whopping 2,500 pieces, it’s a great centrepiece build for a longtime Zelda fan.

Mario Kart

One of the more recent additions to the LEGO Store is this Mario & Standard Kart set, which has 1972 pieces.
It builds our hatted hero, his classic ‘Standard’ Kart that’ll be recognisable to anyone that’s spent time with the Mario Kart series, and a nice display stand.
There are smaller sets for kids to play with, but this one is definitely more of a collector’s item, and is a great way to get ready for Mario Kart World on Switch 2.

Animal Crossing’s KK’s Concert at the Plaza

Animal Crossing New Horizons is about as adorable as games come, and we’re pleased to see the KK’s Concert at the Plaza maintains that sense of cuteness.
The set is rated for ages 7 and up, with 550 pieces to provide enough challenge without feeling too easy, and it includes multiple small builds including a vehicle and food stand.
Alongside Isabelle, KK, and Audie minifigs, we’re particularly into the customisable flag that lets younger builders add a splash of originality to the build.

Fortnite’s Battle Bus

A really fun build, Fortnite’s iconic Battle Bus is recognisable anywhere and the kitbashed appeal of the flying public transit vehicle is alive and well in its LEGO version.
From the awkwardly attached balloon, the random pipe at the front, and opening doors for all those players looking to leap out in search of their Victory Royale, it’s a fan’s dream.
It’s also got 954 pieces, which includes not one, not two, but NINE figures. The roof and balloon can detach, too, which is a nice touch.

Minecraft’s Crafting Table and Ghast Balloon Village Attack

We couldn’t pick just one Minecraft set, especially with the recent movie dropping even more options onto the LEGO store.
The Ghast Balloon Village Attack is a great example of that, offering minifigures for Jack Black, as well as Dawn and Henry, Piglins, and a Villager. There’s even an Iron Golem, but the real draw is likely to be Steve’s Lava Chicken Shack, which even drops eggs.

Looking for more of a display piece? Good news! The Crafting Table is a fantastic Minecraft set that comes with 1195 pieces and offers a series of mini builds that make up a neatly-packaged diorama.

Sonic The Hedgehog’s Knuckles and the Master Emerald Shrine

Look, if you’re anything like me, you’ll know Sonic has had his time to shine. Maybe it’s the recency bias of the movie trilogy, but Knuckles is “1 million per cent muscle” by his own estimations so we’re gonna let him take a starring role here.
And star he does, alongside Amy Rose in a set that centres on one of Robotnik’s bigger goons attempting to snag the Master Emerald (that’s a big deal).
With play features, lots of neat details (we love the punchbag) and those all-important Knuckles and Amy minifigures, it’s a great set for ages 8 and up.

Mario’s King Boo’s Haunted Mansion

OK, it’s another Mario set, but this one is a little different in that it’s much more for playing with than the Mario Kart model from earlier.
If you’ve already got the Super Mario starter set with Mario himself, this interactive playset is a fantastic companion. It has baby Yoshi, Dry Bones, Boo and King Boo, and features a fold-out design that helps save space.
Once you get inside, players can collect coins and open the treasure chest, and the mansion itself is nice and detailed too thanks to 932 pieces.
